Domestic Violence Awareness

Domestic Abuse

A pattern of behavior in a relationship where a person uses physical violence which include hitting, slapping, punching, scratching, etc. to gain power and control over another person in a romantic relationship. 

Mental Abuse

A pattern of behavior resulting in name calling, humiliating, outbursts of anger, and threats made to gain power and control over another person in a relationship. 

Physical Abuse

The intentional act of causing an injury to another person in a romantic relationship. 

Emotional Abuse

Is a form of abuse where a person intentionally attempts to make a person feel bad about themselves to lower their self-esteem. 

Financial Abuse

Occurs when the abuser restricts, limits, or forces their partner into debt to force the other person to be reliant on them completely for financial support.  

Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse is a pattern of behavior that involves a person forcing another person to engage in sex acts against their will and without their consent.
